Five Feet
In August we teamed up with the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce's star new membership coordinator, Wendy Potter for a dining review. For the wine drinker, Five Feet is a mecca of fantastic wines, some dating back a decade or more, as well as a great selection of affordable bottles. We had all previously dined at Five Feet, so to add a new angle to our experience, we asked Owner/Chef, Michael Kang to handle the ordering for us. We started with the Soft-shell Crab Tempura and a Blackened Ahi Sashimi Salad. The Ahi Sashimi was incredible, but the Soft-shelled Crab really stood out. For Dinner we shared a trio of plates that included "Sze Chaun Hot Sisters" a medley of fresh Australian giant white prawns & jumbo black tiger prawns, served over a bed of Thai penne pasta. Next we split "Beyond Sushi" (fresh Nova Scotia blue fin tuna, wrapped in nori with crab meat, avocado & natural salmon roe. To complete our meal, we shared a perfectly cooked veal chop. The portions are huge, so we didn't fit dessert in, but we've eaten the desserts before so make sure & save some room. There is not an item on this menu that is not perfect. If you've never been, you can't get there fast enough. Five Feet
