South Laguna recently hosted the 3rd annual skim contest. It was hosted by locals Bill and George Bryan, along with the help of local businesses such as South Laguna Surf & Sport, Cartel Bikes & Skateboards and Papas Tacos. According to George the contest wouldn't have happened if Bill Bryan hadn't put in most of the time and effort. Thanks to him it was a huge success.

George told The Word that the goal was to get everybody amped to start the contest season and West Street, with its south swell is a great place this time of year. George and Bill would like to thank everyone who participated. Every person or business that they asked to participate came through. "There were no haters." It was an excellent day. We had generous sponsors, great waves, perfect weather and enthusiastic participants. We're looking forward to next year!
